Census 2021

Monday, March 1st, 2021

Census day is Sunday 21 March 2021.

The census is a once-in-a-decade survey that provides the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales.

The importance of this is that it provides information as the basis to plan and fund services we all need, including transport, education and healthcare.

In early March all households will receive a letter explaining how to complete the form online. If you don’t receive it, or if you need a paper form, please get in touch with the census contact centre on 0800 141 2021.

The Census 2021 website provides information about the census, and responses can be made online, using an access code. It seems the working assumption is that this will be the main means of response, but those that prefer a paper form can request one.

Buckinghamshire Council is providing a range of census support, information and advice to residents. Visit https://www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/your-council/council-and-democracy/census-2021/ for further information along with the contact details and how residents can book support with form filling.

It is an offence to supply false information or to not complete the census, and you could be fined up to £1,000. Some questions are clearly labelled as voluntary. It is not an offence if you do not answer these.
