Sergeant Darren Walsh, of the Amersham team, explained: “Due to a number of events being cancelled due to Covid-19, I have been able to take advantage and get some targeted mounted patrols in areas that have been reporting various ASB and crime issues.
The Mounted units are a useful tool and can be used for:
- Public Order and Public Safety events.
- Night time economy high visibility patrols
- Rural crime patrols
- Licensed Search
- High Visibility patrol in-line with local tasking
- Horsewatch and British Horse Society liaison
- Ceremonial and escort protection duties
I will be seeing if we can further utilise this resource for the benefit of our community.”
